Tax Appeal & Equalization

Who needs Tax Appeal & Equalization?

The State of Arkansas, allows petitioning from homeowners, corporations, and developers who believe that their assessed property value is above market standards. We are experts in “Go-Dark” situations, where businesses may vacate locations based on overly burdensome tax assessment.

What is Equalization?

In Arkansas, the assessed value is supposed to be equivalent or at the least comparable to similar properties in a specific area or neighborhood, this is know as Equalization. The County Assessors or the companies they use for re-assessment, generally values properties in large data sets, which can sometimes render skewed assessed and/or taxable values for your property. MAC Valuation can develop a current market value opinion based on current data sets based on your individual property. Using a certified appraiser to assess your property can help you file a successful petition for equalization.

What is the deadline to get my petition filed?

June or July depending on your Home County in Arkansas.
